This week in Kindergarten:

TUESDAY, MARCH 2:  We will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday/Read Across America Day.  We will have Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast!  Thanks to those who volunteered to send items to help us celebrate!

BIBLE:  Lessons:  Blind Bartimaeus; Jairus’ Daughter; Jesus and the Children; The Lost Lamb.  Verses:  T:  Thou God seest me.  Genesis 16:13.  U:  Unto Thee, O God, do we give thanks.  Psalm 75:1. 

PHONICS:  Review special sounds:  ck in duck, ay in pray, st in stop, pl in plane, fr in frog, tr in train; gl in glue; sh in ship.  New special sounds:  bl in block; ck in clock; fl in flake; br in bride; dr in drum; pr in pray gr in grin.  I will send copies of our phonics charts home in take-home folders this week so you may review special sounds at home with your child.

READING:  We will read in reading groups or in class daily.  Reading homework will be assigned Wednesday and Thursday this week (due to Dr. Seuss day on Tuesday). 

WRITING:  Extra practice:  Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy, Zz.  Writing first names, blends, words and sentences.

SPELLING:  List 5:  3 times each Mon - Wed.  Practice Test on Thursday.  Test on Friday.

MATH:  Review telling time/counting coins.  Extra practice on addition and subtraction facts.  Writing number sentences.  Before, after and between numbers.  FACT HOMEWORK MONDAY AND THURSDAY!

SCIENCE books were given out last week - we begin studying ”God’s World” this week! 

Boys may bring an item from home to show the class on Friday.   

Announcements:  Cap and Gown pictures March 10; Report Cards March 11; Spirit Week March 15-19; Spring Break March 22-26.
