Our field trip to Callaway Gardens was fun. It got really hot sitting out in the heat for the Birds of Prey Show; the children did really well.
Our fundraiser ends this week with the Carnival on Friday, April 23, and if any of you adults can come help, we can surely use you.
SPELLING: We will not have our regular spelling this week.
PHONICS: We will have our phonics test on Tuesday as usual. However, notice the page I sent home on Thursday with the list of spelling words that are on Tuesday’s phonics test. Your child is to write those words 3 times each Monday night for homework and turn in on Tuesday. Then, Tuesday night he is to use 8 of the words in sentences.
BIBLE: Oral test on Thursday because of the carnival.I Peter 5:7 NIV
MATH: Tests on Thursday. We continue learning multiplication facts for the 0,1,2,3,4,5,and 10 times tables. We’re even learning to divide right now. We continue working on adding and carrying over; subtracting and borrowing; reading clocks to the minute and reading thermometers.
READING: We will have reading homework on Monday and Tuesday nights. We have one more reading book in our first grade reading curriculum.
